>> President of the 2026 Edition
To preside over the jury of 450 professional tasters, we are honoured to welcome Xavier Thuizat, Best Craftsman of France and Best Sommelier of France 2022. A leading figure in French sommellerie, he embodies excellence, curiosity, and a deep passion for wine. His discerning yet generous perspective guided this edition, dedicated to sharing and discovery.
A few words from the 2026 Contest President
“It was a pleasure for me to preside over this wonderful 2026 edition. I had the opportunity to discover new talents from the vineyards and to meet a panel of passionate and supportive judges, with whom I was able to exchange views on a wide range of topics. I was also particularly impressed by the 2024 white wines from Languedoc and the Rhône Valley that I had the chance to taste.”
Since 2022, the Challenge Millésime BIO has had the great pleasure of welcoming international organic beers, with over 150 organic beers entered in 2026!
The competition team continues to work alongside Elisabeth Pierre, beer expert, author, professional zythology trainer, speaker, international beer competition judge, and founder of the Bierissima Circle.
A few words from our beer expert, Elisabeth Pierre
This 2026 edition of the Millésime BIO Beer Challenge confirms the diversity of organic beers, with 26 categories encompassing a wide range of beer styles. Among the major trends identified is the growing presence of alcohol-free beers and beers brewed using 100% French organic ingredients. This criterion is, moreover, a unique feature of a beer competition. It highlights the importance of local sourcing and promotes the close links between agricultural and brewing stakeholders within their territories.
The competition has another distinctive advantage: showcasing the medal-winning beers at the Millésime BIO trade fair and offering them for tasting to buyers over three days. I am honoured to have supported this Challenge since its creation in 2022, and to have also contributed this year, alongside Marion Aslanian, to the evolution of the tasting panel, with the introduction of technical referents.
New for this Edition: “Organic Dealcoholised Wines” Category
The The World Organic Wine and Beer Contest has expanded this year with the introduction of a new category dedicated to organic dealcoholised wines. This new addition highlights the contest's attention to evolving market trends, while promoting producers who combine innovation, high quality standards, and respect for the environment.
Testimonials : Experiences About the Contest and Millésime BIO Bar Challenge

Rosa BENEDETTI, Tenuta Santa Lucia di Paridi Benedetti (Italy, Emilia-Romagna) :
“ Our experience at the Millésime BIO trade fair has always been fruitful and enriching. Participating in the Challenge Millésime BIO competition has, year after year, led us to meet new importers from all over the world, particularly Europe and America. The visibility that our company has gained over the years is undoubtedly due to the presence of some of our wines at the BarChallenge Millésime BIO.”

Fabian ZAEHRINGE - Weingut Zaehringe (Germany, Baden) :
“ Within the last 10 years, we were happy to win five gold medals for our Chardonnay Altenberg. This has helped us a lot in promoting sales and building a strong reputation. We also received more attention at the fair by being able to display the medals at our stand.”

Laurent HABRARD – Domaine Laurent Habrard (France, Rhône Valley) :
“ For me, the BAR CHALLENGE is a particularly effective showcase. It allows buyers to save a great deal of time during the tasting and discovery part of their visit. Afterwards, they come to meet the selected winemakers in person. This discovery table also serves as a qualitative selection of the many wines presented throughout the fair.”

Our Objective: To Highlight Quality Organic Wines and Beers
- Organising a Quality Contest
Each edition, we put our expertise at the service of the participants to offer a professional tasting experience that respects the products entrusted to us. An ideally lit tasting room, tasting equipment suited to the products, controlled storage and service temperatures, and carefully maintained bottle anonymity are part of our stringent requirements.
- Surrounding Ourselves with a Jury of Experts
We place great importance on the selection of our jury, as it defines the reputation of our contest and the value of the awards given to the wines and beers presented. We confidently organize each edition with a roster of competent tasters. The application of each new taster is reviewed by us and approved if it meets our selection criteria. It is important for us to mix highly knowledgeable amateur tasters with industry professionals to foster rich exchanges about the products being tasted.
- Offering Dynamic and Diverse Communication to the Winners
In addition to the communication materials provided to the winners (diploma, medals to be affixed to the labels of awarded products), the contest offers unparalleled communication through its synergy with the largest international organic trade fair, Millésime BIO, which includes wines, beers, and other alcoholic beverages.
This media exposure is complemented by the opportunity to be present in a dedicated tasting area for medal winners, set up in the heart of the trade fair, an event expected to draw nearly 9,500 professional buyers.
The winners' list is also communicated to a database of over 53,000 professional buyers (wine merchants, hotels, restaurants, retailers, distributors, supermarkets, exporters, wholesalers, etc.). The communication of the winners' list is further supported by both specialized and mainstream media outlets.
